RTL 4 CONFIRMS SECOND SEASON OF HIT SERIES ‘DESTINATION X’

Following its successful debut last spring on RTL 4, the Dutch channel has confirmed that the adventurous competition 'Destination X' will return for a second season. Once again, ten contestants will embark on an exhilarating journey aboard the iconic black bus, en route to ‘Destination X’. As with the first season, production will be expertly handled by Villain Studios.

The ‘Destination X’ phenomenon is spreading internationally, with the first season aired in France on M6 and series already filmed for Prosieben in Germany, DR in Denmark, and both NBC and the BBC for the US and UK markets, respectively. Meanwhile, VTM in Belgium is also producing their second season, building on the show's growing global appeal.

In ‘Destination X’, ten brave contestants set off on the road trip of a lifetime. They board the innovative Destination X Bus, a vehicle where appearances are deceiving. With blackout blinds covering the windows and reality frequently distorted to mislead, contestants — and viewers at home — are kept on their toes. Each piece of information is laced with clues to help everyone decide what to believe. Contestants must be constantly vigilant, as each episode ends with them guessing their location. The participant whose guess is furthest from the actual location must leave the game, forfeiting their chance to win a cash prize. The last remaining contestants face the thrilling challenge of locating the show’s host, who communicates via state-of-the-art drones and sophisticated technical devices from a secret command post somewhere in Europe.

Gepke Nederlof, MD of Be-Entertainment, expressed excitement about the show's continued journey: “The Dutch version of ‘Destination X’ holds a special place in my heart. The team from Villain Studios poured their passion and creativity into producing an outstanding first series. We are thrilled that RTL has chosen to continue this adventure with us. I can't wait to see where the journey takes us next."

'Destination X' is the brainchild of Geronimo, the award-winning team behind acclaimed series such as ‘The Big Job Switch’ and ‘Local Heroes’.
