‘THE WAY OUT’ CONTINUES SUCCESS IN GERMANY AND THE NETHERLANDS
Following the recent announcement that UKTV commissioned its first series of the lighthearted and highly entertaining hit comedy format for the UK. ‘The Way Out’ is celebrating more good news. Prime Video in Germany has confirmed the commission of a second season, building on the show’s strong debut last year. This news follows a recently concluded highly successful sixth season on VTM in Belgium, and a sixth-season commission from SBS (Talpa Network) in the Netherlands after a strong fifth run last year. All versions of the show are produced at the Belgian production hub in collaboration with original creator and producer Roses Are Blue.
‘The Way Out’ delivers a high-intensity, humorous, and puzzle-filled adventure in every episode. Each week, two celebrity duos enter identical escape rooms, brimming with riddles, scientific experiments, and mysteries to unravel. Their objective: solve puzzles and complete assignments to gather crucial clues, all while racing against the clock. The duo with the fastest time claims victory and the glory of their accomplishment, providing entertaining viewing.
Gepke Nederlof, Managing Director of Be-Entertainment, expressed enthusiasm about the show’s expanding international footprint, stating: "We’re thrilled to see ‘The Way Out’ continuing to grow its global success. The team at Roses Are Blue has developed an innovative and cost-effective production structure that maintains the show’s high-quality entertainment value without the need for an expensive studio component in addition to the escape room setting. This approach allows us to deliver premium production value while meeting the current demands of the market and audience preferences.”
Created and produced by Roses Are Blue for VTM Belgium, ‘The Way Out’ is distributed worldwide by Be-Entertainment. With its growing list of global adaptations, the show continues to engage audiences with its thrilling blend of competition, experiments, and entertainment.
