TV2 HUNGARY GETS ON BOARD ‘DESTINATION X’
TV2 Hungary is the ninth territory to confirm a local version of ‘Destination X’, to be produced by dedicated line production company X-Line in cooperation with TV2’s in-house production team. The confirmation comes just weeks after the news of a second season commission by NBC in the US, and a first commission of the hit adventure reality competition in Ukraine. Meanwhile, the format just finished its third successful season in its home territory Belgium, establishing itself as a strong household brand in the adventure reality competition genre.
‘Destination X’ takes local contestants on the "road trip of a lifetime." They embark on the innovative ‘Destination X’ bus, where nothing is what it seems, and both the contestants and the viewers need to figure out "Where the X they are". The game demands that contestants remain completely focused, because the participant who places its 'X' farthest from the actual location is eliminated, losing their chance at the cash prize. The spectacular and mind-blowing gameplay is designed to keep viewers engaged and playing along across all screens.
Gepke Nederlof, MD of Be-Entertainment, comments: “I’m proud to see TV2 joining the ‘Destination X Adventure’. They were true fans from day one and we’re excited that we found a way to get the bus on the road together with X-Line and the TV2 team. Proving that it is possible to bring this major adventure reality show to screens beyond the largest television markets.”
The award-winning format ‘Destination X’ was created and produced by Geronimo for VTM in Belgium. International distribution is handled by Be-Entertainment.
