‘DESTINATION X’ BLASTS OFF IN THE NETHERLANDS
The highly anticipated Dutch edition of successful adventure reality competition ‘Destination X’ soared with sensational numbers on RTL4 since its launch on Friday, May 9th.
After airing four episodes, the series has already reached an average market share of 26.2% in the key demo for RTL4 (HHV 25-54, consolidated). It marks an increase of more than +25% vs the primetime channel average market share for the same target. The strong increase in absolute viewership in the week following the linear broadcast, as well as the positive feedback on social channels, shows that viewers are hooked to the compelling gameplay in ‘Destination X’.
Locally hosted by wellknown and charismatic actor Nasrdin Dchar, the successful Dutch adaptation is produced by Villain Studios, which also joined forces with the original creator of the format, Geronimo, to set up X-Line. This partnership is currently responsible for several international line productions for ’Destination X’, including the German production.
The Dutch launch marks the third territory to be on air with ‘Destination X’ since it premiered on VTM in Belgium last year. Production is currently underway in four additional territories, including the US and the UK, highlighting the global appeal and momentum of the 'Destination X' phenomenon.
