‘CHALLENGE THE CHANNEL’ BEATS ALL COMPETITION

‘Challenge the Channel’ local title, ‘Beat VTM’, launched to strong numbers last night when airing the first battle episode of the series. The format delivered a whopping 44,3% market share in the 18-44 target on VTM in Belgium, which is a big increase compared to the channel average in the same target: 23,5%.

The highly competitive show already got off to a good start last September, with the kick-off episode delivering a 33% market share, compared to VTM’s 2019 market share of 23,3%.

After the kick-off episode, 8 challengers and 8 VTM celebrities were trained by their personal expert for a period of 100 days in order to master a brand-new skill. Ranging from cheerleading to freediving. In each episode, a viewer and a celebrity meet in a spectacular battle. Who truly masters his new skill?

After eight episodes, either the challengers or the celebrities will achieve overall victory. In last night’s episode we saw actor Guga Baúl score the first point for Team VTM. He beat the Flemish challenger Sander in a very intense Turkish oil wrestling game.
